I came back from Tech Camp and found a mail notice in the mailbox. I went to the Post Office the next day and there was a lovely package from 42mainst on knitty.
The brown paper covered a lovely gold box, crammed full of goodies.
Let's see where to start...the chocolate covered peppermints are gone. My pal made me some yummy Elderberry Jam which came in a custom made styrofoam cocoon. She made a wonderful bag out of purple cotton tape that contained many of my goodies. Details of the bag are on her blog.
Continuing with the goodies, 3 skeins of purple/lavender romni wools. The color is fabulous. I might make something for my mom. Since she had her stroke last year she is always cold. She is stuck in a wheelchair so I think I can make her a shawl that will keep her warm.
A lovely bracelet in purple and crystal. It is jazzing up my summer wardrobe. Two natural beeswax candles. The best part is they do not smell.
A pretty purple zip purse that had Hello Kitty candies. This zip purse will be perfect for stitch markers.
She made magnets from lovely oriental looking paper. These are going to school. Many of these little gifties were wrapped in a lavender rice type paper. I have saved every scrap.
Finally a CD, that I thought was an audio "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac but is really a set of specially selected "road" songs. It will keep me company on my next trip home.
She included literature on Millbank Ontario and an itinerary if I were to show up. The menu from Anna Mae's is tempting. Lisa, watch out, I may come by next year.
Thanks so much for the wonderful package.
I'm glad you liked everything, Knitting-Cat, thanks for your patience. I had forgotten that I had used "On the Road" as the cover for that mixed CD -- no wonder you thought it was an audio book! I was especially pleased with how the bracelet came out, I hope it fits well. The candles are made right here in Millbank by a neighbour.
Hey, I never noticed before that the pretzels spell out "Cat" at the top of the picture on the bag! How perfect!! :)
